Vladamir realized that his father is getting older and won't be with them forever so he started spending more time with him.
The hint that he needed some special attention was when he built the nastiest looking snowman that anyone had ever seen to watch out for his crop of winter squash.
Meanwhile Kiana finally managed to get a boy to let her kiss him. He didn't seem to like it very much, however.
Vladamir got comfy in his gingerbread pajamas and sat down to enjoy a game of chess with Sebastian.
Everyone was much too busy with their own things to notice that Shayla had a birthday.
The-Boy-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named refused to come in from the cold and he froze right there on their lawn.
They didn't even notice and eventually he collapsed.

Sebastian begged the Grim not to take the boy, he pleaded to be taken in the boys place.
Grim wouldn't agree to the terms, however. He knew the man was quite old and would be leaving the mortal world soon enough.
That very day he returned to collect Sebastian. Everyone was devastated, no one more so than Vladamir.
Vladamir kept himself distracted from his sorrow by keeping himself as busy as he could.
Kiana took to gardening to hide her pain.
But then distracted herself by flirting with neighbor Paolo Todd.
Shayla also found a boyfriend. Something she wanted as many as possible of, preferably on the formal athletic side and without cologne.
Kiana really didn't want to go to college. She wanted to concentrate more on her job and hopefully start a family of her own as soon as possible.
She had a really nice birthday despite the fact that her grandfather was not there to share it with her. She longed to fill the house with the laughter of children in hopes that it would make the place seem less empty without him.
